Communication
Children with speech disorders may have difficulty with;
- articulation: production of individual sounds
- phonology: order and sequence of sounds
- fluency: e.g. stuttering
- resonance: pitch, volume, or quality of the voice
- oral feeding: chewing and swallowing
Language disorders can be either receptive (listening and understanding) or expressive (speaking). If you have concerns about a child’s speech or language you should contact a Speech Pathologist, you can locate one here: http://www.speechpathologyaustralia.org.au
